Imprisonment didn’t stop Bill Cosby from sending a message to the world this Father’s Day weekend. I kid. With his visual impairments, prohibition of cell phones and other things he has going on, it was likely a member of his team who felt it appropriate to send the country a Father’s Day message.

And in this video, Cosby talks about America’s history of taking the Black man from his family, whether through enslavement, incarceration and governmental aid regulations.

And while that is true and would have been a message we were willing to hear from Cosby a decade ago, given what we know about him today, it’s just ridiculous.

It was Cosby’s actions that took him away from his Black family and the Black community at large. And as far as him being America’s favorite dad, that’s a title that hasn’t been his since the 90’s. Even before we knew he was a serial rapist, Cosby wasn’t being very loving or fatherly to the Black community who helped shape his career.

He could have saved this trash take. And the internet let him—or his people—know that he could have left this one in drafts.
