National Eat Your Veggies Day is a great time to remind everyone about the importance of getting several servings of vegetables in your diet each day. When you lead a busy lifestyle, it can be hard to incorporate fresh produce into every meal. Are you going to be that coworker with the homemade gourmet salad in Tupperware and dressing in a separate container every day? You don’t really have time for that. And, I’ll say something that maybe I’m not supposed to say as an adult but, it’s not like vegetables are that good. They can be tasty but, they’ll never hold up to, say, a donut or pizza. We don’t eat them because they’re the most delicious things available: we eat them because we should. But you shouldn’t be punished by eating flavor-less food, just for following a good diet. So here are painless ways to get more vegetables in your diet.
Turn sandwiches into lettuce wraps
Whether you like roasted turkey slices and cheese or chicken salad with cranberries, most of your favorite sandwich fillings will taste just as good wrapped up in iceberg or romaine lettuce as they do between plain old bread slices.
