The Season Two Trailer For ‘POSE’ Is Here
After a long wait, season two of the FX hit series Pose is finally set to grace our televisions again this summer. By the looks of season two’s trailer, it was worth the wait.
The trailer follows the cast as they chase their dreams and try to stay positive while HIV wreaks havoc on their community. Blanca, mother of the House of Evangelista, seems to have not faced the reality of how the virus is damaging her body while Angel continues to go after the glamorous life and becomes an aspiring model. Elektra has leveled up after losing everything and returning to humble beginnings but it is unclear of how she rose back to the top of her game. As their house becomes a force on the New York City ballroom scene, Blanca, Angel, Lil Papi, Ricky, Elektra and Damon grow closer as a family as they push through the everyday struggle of being part of the LGBTQ community during the ’90’s.
“We’re also talking about access to medical care and what does that mean to be positive and be Black or be Latin and not have access?” Steven Canals, Pose co-creator, said according to Variety. “To explore life and death in that way is exciting as a storyteller and also scary because you know the audience has expectations, and they fall in love with these characters.”
Janet Mock, who made her directorial debut during season one, was tight-lipped about what to expect during season two but did mention that we can expect to learn more about the characters’ backgrounds.
“There will be some of the origins stories of characters that we may not have heard as much from before, but whom people of course love because they are either on Team Abundance or Team Evangelista,” she told Billboard.
Pose will premire June 11th on FX at 10:00 p.m EST.
