Remy Ma Is Going To Trial
Remy Ma turned down a plea deal regarding the April 16th assault of Brittney Taylor and will be heading to trial.
During her court appearance yesterday (May 24), the Bronx femcee turned down the deal offered to her: plead guilty and get no jail time but attend anger management classes. Remy is being charged with misdemeanor assault, harassment and aggravated harassment. According to the NY Daily News, the time of the alleged assault was also changed from 9:30 p.m to 10:30 p.m.
Taylor, who stars on Love & Hip-Hop, accused the “Wake Me Up” rapper of punching her in the face at a cancer benefit concert at New York City’s Irving Plaza hosted by Fat Joe. After the alleged incident, she revealed her bruised and swollen eye on Instagram.
Taylor, 27, said Remy punched her after she was explaining to her how she defended her stepdaughter, Dejenae, during spring break in Miami.
Remy Ma has already served six years in prison for shooting a woman back in 2007. Her parole is set to end in August.
The 38-year-old recently gave birth to her daughter, Mackenzie, so fighting for her freedom again is the last thing she wants to do.
“Who looks forward to going to trial?” she told the Daily News. “I have things to do in my life — like, I have a real job, I have a family, I have a husband, I have a daughter.”
Remy’s trial will start July 12th.
