Alexis Ohanian, Sr., husband of Serena Williams and father of Alexis Olympia Ohanian, really wants to learn how to do his daughter’s hair. Like, really, really.

The 36-year-old Internet entrepreneur shared with his followers late last week that in an attempt to get better at styling his 1-year-old’s hair, he started following a few natural hair pages.

This simple but sweet tidbit of information was liked more than 21,000 times, with Black women offering all sorts of advice. That counsel included naming YouTube vloggers to follow, which he said he’d already been seeking out for styling tips: “The daddy daughter Youtube accounts are the best!”

Some white fathers of biracial girls and even boys also shared adorable photos of styles they’d tried on their kids, which, for the most part, were impressive.

This isn’t Alexis’ first foray in trying to understand Black hair care. Last year, he attempted to aid Williams’ fans by asking her what edge control she uses to keep her hair together during intense matches. He asked, “Why are your edges so good?” She replied by saying it’s because of a new gel she discovered, which she pettily called “Serena’s secret.”

The famous couple are working hard to ensure that baby Alexis truly appreciates her hair, among other very important things that have to do with her beauty, both inside and out.

“I think my mom instilled in us to be confident women, to really believe in ourselves, be proud of our heritage, our hair, and our bodies,” Williams said in the January issue of Allure. “That was something that was really important for her to teach us. I’m definitely teaching it to my daughter.”

“When I tell her she’s beautiful, I want to teach her that she’s beautiful from the inside,” she added. “Giving is beauty. Being kind and humble is the ultimate beauty.”
