In November, Kandi Burruss shared that she and husband Todd Tucker were planning to use a surrogate to have a second child together, but the Real Housewives of Atlanta star told us coming to that decision wasn’t easy.
“For me, it was like there are not that many alternatives because I’m not getting pregnant. It’s not happening for me physically so it was either, do we destroy these embryos or do we take a chance with a surrogate and see how it could go, you know, and we decided to take a chance.”
The 42-year-old said it took some time for her and Todd to feel okay about the decision, and actually seeing Gabrielle Union and Dwayne Wade have a baby via a surrogate gave her peace about her choice.
“At first I was kinda like, ‘I don’t know.’ My husband was kind of iffy about it, but Dr. Jackie was helping us with the situation and then when I saw Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade just announced that they had the baby through surrogacy, it really uplifted me.”
