FOX Cancelled ‘Star’ And The Internet Isn’t Happy
Another hit show is being snatched off the air. The FOX hit drama, Star, has been canceled after only three seasons, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Even though the musical drama maintained satisfactory ratings, its viewership has fell 11 percent with its targeted demographic. Star, which was created by Lee Daniels, followed three young women as they maneuvered their way through the music industry. The cast included Queen Latifah, Ryan Destiny, Jude Demorest, Brittany O’Grady, Queen Latifah, Amyiah Scott and Quincy Brown.
Scott took to Twitter to reflect about her first major TV opportunity.
“We had no idea what would happen, if anything at all…,” she tweeted. “I’m so proud of the stories we told and I’m so thankful for the sisters and family I’ve gained.”
Besides Star, other FOX series that got booted off the network include Lethal Weapon, The Passage and The Cool Kids.
The cancellation of Star has sparked the #SaveStar campaign where fans are pleading with Netflix and Hulu to take the reins and reboot the series.
