It’s not always easy for vegetarians and meat-eaters to dine at restaurants in a way that leaves everyone feeling totally satisfied. I feel like the vegetarian options at most restaurants that don’t cater to vegetarians are limited to, say, a tofu burger or vegetable pasta. Meanwhile, when meat-eaters go to vegetarian restaurants, they can feel like it’s just soy and beans for days. I would say the main complain meat-eaters have about vegetarian food is the lack of flavor and creativity, and the main complaint vegetarians have about vegetarian dishes made by meat-eaters is it’s all about the “fake” meat—faux chicken nuggets and faux meat patties. But, if you do live with and date someone who eats the complete opposite way you do, you need to find some recipes that make both people feel as if they sacrificed nothing. Here are dishes meat-eaters and vegetarians cannot just have but enjoy together.
Macaroni and cheese with veggie bacon
Everybody can get on board with macaroni and cheese. Even if the vegetarian is also a vegan, nutritional yeast tastes surprisingly like the powder cheese we all grew up on with the Kraft stuff. Add a little veggie bacon for a smoky flavor.
