Wendy Williams Says She’s Fearful Of “Poisonous” Cupcakes Following Allegations Against Kevin Hunter
Earlier this week, we told you that back in January, police in New Jersey did a wellness check at Wendy Williams’ home after an individual called to say they believed she was being poisoned by husband Kevin Hunter. Months later, and just days after that story went out, it seems that Williams is either poking fun at it — or sending the message that there was some validity to it.
Or she could be totally oblivious about the story and really just want to be as careful as possible not to get poisoned in these streets…
Williams has rebooted her popular “After Show” vlog on YouTube now that she has a Kevin Hunter-less Wendy Williams Show (he is no longer an executive producer lurking in the background). During a taping of it on Wednesday, while walking backstage to her office, she talked about being extra careful about eating some cupcakes given to her by a fan who visited the show.
“The woman who won Eye Candy happened to have been the woman who gave me — well, now she told me they were cupcakes,” she said. “I saw on the box it said cupcakes from The Cupcake Man or something like that in Jersey, like a legit place, so I know they’re not poisonous,” she said.
“So I’m going to share them with the crew,” she added, without blinking an eye. “See the crew table? I”m going to put them right down there after I take mine. Just a few. Just a few. I don’t want to pop a button by eating too many.”
In the case of that wellness check, according to TMZ, Hunter answered the door and was reportedly hesitant to let officers in the home to see Williams, claiming she was under the weather and recovering. They were required to see her before leaving, and they found the 54-year-old in bed “with the blanket covering from neck to toe.” After making Hunter leave the room so that they could speak with Williams privately (which he was reportedly hesitant to do), she told them she was just recovering from a broken shoulder, but reassured them she was fine. When asked if it was true that she’d been poisoned, she reportedly told the officers, “Well, I’m very popular” before denying any truth to the anonymous staffer’s claim. Soon after, the officers left.
Williams eventually filed for divorce from Hunter in early April, and as you will see in the “After Show” episode, there is definitely a glow about her that can only come from dumping the weight of a troublesome man. Check out her cupcake quip below at the 1:30 mark:
