R. Kelly Has Negative $13 In His Bank Account
Since R. Kelly has been charged with criminal sexual assault and arrested for back child support, it has become clear that he has been having financial hardships. Now evidence has surfaced that is confirming that Kelly is not too far from being broke.
According to documents obtained by The Blast, the disgraced singer has negative $13 dollars in his bank account with Wintrust Bank. The bank reportedly had to inform Kelly’s former landlord that his funds were low in the that account due to the debt he owed them. Kelly has two accounts with Bank of America that had $154,527.22 altogether, but the amount he owed his landlord, $153,902.22 was seized, leaving him with $625.
The former landlord, Midwest Commercial, had sued R. Kelly for the rent he had owed them but they reached an agreement back in January. The Chicago studio was featured in Lifetime’s Surviving R. Kelly because he was accused of housing some of the women he had abused there. Kelly was also sued by an Atlanta-based property company, SB Property Management Global, last year for the damage that two of his homes suffered. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported there was damage to the electric wiring, flooring, windows and there was also a missing stove, ceiling fan and 22 light fixtures missing.
To add on to his financial troubles, he still has to pay $21,000 a month in child support. He was jailed last month for owing over $161,000 in back child support, which is a felony in Illinois. A fan came to his rescue and bailed him out while family, friends and fans also helped him pay his back child support.
