Now that online and phone apps have taken over dating, it’s time to make sure that your internet profile is as glorious and interesting as you are. Here are some tips from Mashable to make sure potential forever bae is impressed with you enough to slide up in those DMs and ask you on a date.

Get Rid Of Old Group Photos

Okay, we are way beyond those terrible pixelated “first profile picture” photos of our social media past–take some images with a high def phone or camera! And while you’re add it, get rid of those ugly, grainy photos too. You want your prospective partner to see you in your best light, clearly, not just sitting and trying to figure out which one you are in the friend photo. Shine alone and clearly.

Good Lighting Is King

You know that time around 6:00pm, golden hour? That’s the perfect time for you to take your photos, Black woman. Our skin glistens at that time in ways that are so beneficial to picture taking. This is a great time to snap a selfie by a window or take a bomb photo outside.

Stop With The Weird Cropped Photos

Those photos with a random arm here or a leg there are just…awkward. You deserve your own shot. Yea, I get it, it may be a photo you look really good in, but you can have others! Replace those weird Diddy crop photos with a pic that focuses on you, you, you.

Keep Bios Short And Sweet

This isn’t the space to tell your whole life story–which can be tempting, but save that for the first date. Use the space to briefly talk about your interests, passions and what you’re looking for on the app.

Ask Your Friends

Show your besties your profile and ask them their objective thoughts. They may be able to find flaws in your page that stick out that you’re unaware of.
