One California mom is fuming after her son was allegedly instructed to pee in a trash can by his teacher, after she wouldn’t allow him to go to the bathroom, Inside Edition reports.

In a press conference last month, his mother, Sonia Mongol, said in tears, “Our child did not deserve this, no child deserves to be treated this way. We are outraged.”

According to Mongol, last November, her 8-year-old son asked to go to the bathroom, and was told her couldn’t in the middle of class. When it became impossible for him to hold it any longer, his teacher told him to pee in a trash can. The boy ended up getting urine on his clothes, so his teacher covered him in a trash bag that he wore for the rest of the school day.

“Why would you make a child expose himself in front of the classroom and then put a garbage bag over him when he came to you for help?” Mongol, said. “Why would you treat a child that way? He’s a kid.”

The victim’s mother claims her child has been bullied by classmates ever since.

A representative for the school district told Inside Edition that they are “alarmed by reports of the events that occurred at Manhattan Place Elementary School. ”

Continuing, “We expect our school site employees to oversee the safety and well-being of our students at all times.” the statement continued. “If true, this alleged behavior by a school employee directly contradicts the mission and values of the Los Angeles Unified School District. We are conducting an administrative investigation in collaboration with law enforcement.”

The teacher in question is allegedly no longer employed with the district.

“Following the conclusion of the investigation, we will take appropriate corrective action,” the rep’s statement reads.
