Job Training Program Changes Lives

(Crain’s) — While growing up in the South Bronx, Fernando Santiago struggled in school and wound up in special education classes. Although he could learn quickly through hands-on instruction and repetition, it was tough for him to find a job as an adult—until he turned to Fedcap for help.  Fedcap, with headquarters in Manhattan, is a nonprofit that provides training, job placement and employment to those with mental, physical, educational or economic disadvantages. About 25 agencies and programs in New York City refer job seekers to the organization.
