Michelle Obama’s ‘Becoming’ Memoir To Become Best-Selling Memoir Of All Time
Michelle Obama’s memoir, Becoming, is on track to become the best-selling memoir of all time. Since it was released in November of 2018, Becoming has sold 10 million copies and counting.
“That makes it our most notable creative success of last year,” Bertelsmann publisher CEO Thomas Rabe said at a news conference, NBC reports.
The former FLOTUS’ book has been breaking records since it has been released. The first day of its release, Becoming sold 725,000 copies. Two weeks after its release, it had already sold two million copies. It then became the best-selling and fastest-selling book of 2018.
Her book also led her on an impressive book tour where she sold out arenas across the world. Admirers didn’t think twice about spending hundreds and thousands of dollars to soak up Mrs. Obama’s words of inspiration.
Barack Obama is up next to release a book under the couple’s two-book deal with Penguin House. Details about his presidential memoir are scarce, but it is speculated that he is in the final writing stages. This will be the former POTUS’ third book. His first two books, 1995’s Dreams From My Father and 2006’s Audacity of Hope, sold 7.5 million copies altogether.
