NAACP Family Fight Goes to Court
(AJC) — Fulton County Superior Court Judge T. Jackson Bedford has scheduled a hearing for Jan. 7 for a hearing to partially decide a dispute between two factions of the NAACP’s Atlanta chapter. Lonnie King and a group of NAACP Atlanta members want the Atlanta chapter’s November election declared invalid. They charge Ed Dubose, president of the Georgia State NAACP, improperly took control of the election and manipulated it to ensure chapter president Rev. R. L. White’s slate of candidates won.
