ICYMI: Mo’Nique Proves You’re Never Too Old To Learn How To Jump Double Dutch
Looking to switch up your workout routine? Why not try Double Dutch?
It requires a different level of physicality and finesse, but it’s also a great deal of fun and a major calorie burner. Academy-award winning actress Mo’Nique understands the benefit of gathering friends who can turn well and getting to work in the ropes. The 51-year-old comedian and her entourage showed off their different level of skills during a break from her Mo’Nique Does Vegas show at the SLS Las Vegas Casino & Resort. They were even confident enough to challenge people who thought they might have a better Double Dutch crew.
Mo’Nique, who shows off her efforts in the second slide and is supposedly good at jumping in, struggled at first trying to jump within the ropes, but she got the hang of it fairly quickly, breaking into giddy excitement at her success.
Earlier this month she revealed that she was learning how to Double Dutch jump for the first time ever, and she looked adorably nervous:
Mo’Nique has done all sorts of modalities when it comes to exercise, from strength training to jogging and dancing. The latter activity seems to be her favorite, and she does it with her trainer, Dwight Holt, Jr. Their work together has helped the star get in the best shape of her life and do so in the natural way.
“Just for me personally, I don’t believe in surgery because I’m deathly afraid of needles,” she said in 2017. “I didn’t want anybody cutting on me, sucking anything out, stapling nothing back together. So that young man, for the last three and a half years, has said, ‘Let’s put the work in, and that’s what it’s been.”
Continue to do work, Mo! We’ll be watching and getting inspired.
