Singer/model Justine Skye is one step closer to justice in a series of disturbing events that have occurred recently after she named ex-boyfriend rapper Sheck Wes (whose real name is Khadimou Rassoul Cheikh Fall) as a perpetrator of domestic violence she says she’s suffered while they were in a relationship. The Blast reports that Skye has been granted a restraining order which orders Sheck Wes to stay 100 yards away from her until a hearing next month.
This comes after the “Ultraviolet” artist posted footage of her attempts to file a report at multiple police precincts where she felt her claims weren’t taken seriously and she was labeled a “difficult victim.” Skye filed the report in response to an alleged altercation that took place between her ex who was accompanied by a group of men she says stalked her and her friends along with her current boyfriend before attacking them. Skye made the public accusation on February 11 and documents reportedly state that Skye believes she’s unsafe and that her “life is in danger.” The restraining order also details an incident that allegedly happened on July 26, 2018 where Skye claims the rapper “threatened to punch me in the face, headbutted me, told me he was going to ‘hurt me’.” Skye states she waited to come forward with the information due to the nature of their “public lives” and the urging of Sheck Wes’s label and team to not go public with the information or report it to authorities.
Sheck Wes has denied all of the allegations stating, “I’ve chosen to remain silent until now out of respect for actual victims of abuse. But I cannot stand by while lies are repeatedly told about me. I never hit or beat any women and I did not beat up or jump anybody.” In an official statement his legal team maintains he will “will defend himself against this serious defamation of character with any and all legal remedies available.”
