When it comes to date night, we’ve been doing the smoky eye for years. Shake it up this Valentine’s Day with a different look—the halo eye. A halo eye is still smoky, but rather than a wash of color all over the eye, the darker shade is restricted to the inner and outer corners, leaving the center of the lid free for a fun pop of color or shimmer. Use a dense eyeshadow brush to pack on a deep shadow into the inner and outer portions of your mobile lid. I recommend a deep brown or plum over black, which can be too intense and hard to blend. Then, pop a shimmery gold, champagne, or pink shade in the center and voilà! Halo eyes are a great way to get the smoky look without risking raccoon eyes for your special day!
