THE CORNROW CHIGNON

Don’t think that natural hair excludes you from being able to rock the smart styles on the runway this season. Before you begin to braid your hair, spray some Tresemmé Moisture Rich Detangling Spray ($4.99, Target.com) throughout so you can comb through your curls with ease. Start out by cornrowing your hair towards the back of your head (if you’re not a braider substitute with a flat twist. You can play with proportion by not making them the exact same size or you can part them all to be razor sharp.

If you have 3A to 3C use a hair balm ($16, GirlandHair.com) around your edges instead of edge control to make flyaways look intentionally wispy. If you have 4A to 4C hair lightly twirl them with a jelly-like curling custard ($8.99 Target.com) instead. Finally, tuck and pin it underneath. Insert pins in opposite directions to ensure a long-lasting hold. This is a two-in-one style. When you are done with the cornrows, unravel them and style accordingly. Lastly, add the Tresemmé Keratin Smooth Shine Serum ($8.11, Walmart.com) to keep frizz at bay and your hair looking glossy!
