The family of Lamar Davenport pointed fingers at actor Morgan Freeman during Davenport’s recent sentencing. Page Six reports on Thursday Justice Ellen Biben sentenced Davenport to 20 years for the murder of Freeman’s step-granddaughter E’dena Hines whom neighbors witnessed being stabbed 25 times in August of 2015 in Washington Heights during a PCP-induced rage.

During the sentencing Davenport’s mother insisted her son is innocent and Hines’s murder was actually at the hands of Freeman who was rumored to be having an affair at some point with the young woman:

“Morgan Freeman molested her and he caused this. He did this.”

Freeman has repeatedly denied any allegations that he had a sexual relationship with Hines. Her niece, Ayanna Freeman and her biological mother Deena Adair gave moving victim impact speeches, despite the claims made by Davenport’s family:

“My soulmate was taken from me, and ever since then I continue to feel the emptiness.”

“We shared so many of my first experiences together. There were supposed to be other firsts that she cannot and will not be a part of. This experience has forever changed me as a person.”

“How could I know it would be the last time I would see her or hear her voice?”

“There is a void in our family. Those were our last laughs together, and I’ll never be able to hold my child again. I will never see her get married or have children. There will forever be an empty seat at our family gatherings.”

Davenport was convicted of manslaughter and Biben referred to the murder as “barbaric” during the sentencing. He apologized during the sentencing which occurred after he waived his rights to a jury trial saying, “I don’t remember what happened.”

Hines was an aspiring actress whom after her death Freeman shared that “the world will never know her artistry and talent.”
