The latest news in the ongoing Superbowl performance drama involving Travis Scott is again escalating after an earlier news story seemed to insinuate that the Houston received Colin Kaepernick’s blessing to perform at the Super Bowl.

After several critics blasted Scott for agreeing to perform at the halftime show alongside rock band Maroon 5,  Scott’s camp quickly worked to clear up the bad press and revealed Scott allegedly negotiated deal that required the NFL to donate $500,000 to a prison reform organization.

On Wednesday a second story followed, saying after a discussion with the ousted NFL quarterback, Kaepernick gave Scott the go ahead.

The backlash stemmed from the ongoing debate over the National Anthem protest–recently spurred by Kaepernick, who kneeled to shed light on the injustice surrounding America’s mistreatment of Black men and women.

Hot 97 host Ebro Darden first light the smoke signal around the story between Scott and Kaepernick, tweeting that the story was hogwash.

But it was Kaepernick’s leading lady, Nessa Diab, who let the story go up in smoke after she made sure to debunk the accusations.

According to TMZ Kaepernick and Scott did speak, but it was prior to Scott securing the deal to perform at the Super Bowl. The story went on to say that Scott never asked for Kaepernick’s blessing.

“There is NO mutual respect and there is NO understanding for anyone working against @Kaepernick7 PERIOD. #stoplying,” Nessa tweeted on Wednesday.

Nessa further explained on Instagram that she would not allow her man to be used to soothe the bad press Scott has received over choosing to participate in the Super Bowl.

“1. Artists don’t get paid to perform at ‘the big game.’ These performers are CHOOSING to do this for a “look,” she continued.

“2. The fact that many people have told him don’t support the organization that has blackballed @kaepernick7 for standing up for people and he still does it anyways, shows more about him than anything else. 💁🏽‍♀️⁣

AND! If someone wants to work with the opposition then that’s on them, BUT DO NOT have your team lie to reporters to insinuate Colin was okay with anyone working against him. PERIOD.”

Why anyone thought Nessa would not quickly jump to clear up any misconceptions about her man is questionable as she has a long history of jumping in the ring over Kaep. But now they surely know that she’s not the one to play with, especially when it comes to her man .
