I think it’s a gross understatement to say that men have to do better. And the only way for that to happen is for men to start calling out and holding other men accountable for poor behavior. And while some men are open to this message and this task, there are more than a few who likely believe changing their bad and oppressive behavior will result in a loss of power in society. We see examples of this everyday but the most recent came when Gillette, the razor brand which is a part of Proctor and Gamble company, recently released a campaign which turns its slogan, “The best a man can get,” on its head.
Check out the ad, which was beautiful, powerful and much-needed below.
The campaign almost brought a tear to my eye. And while there were some people who took the message to heart, there were some men and the occasional woman who were incensed by the message.
Thankfully, Gillette is standing behind the ad and there were a slew of people who picked up on and heeded the message.
