EJ Johnson has been a proud and outspoken member of the LGBTQ community and often expresses himself through fashion.

Sunday night at the Golden Globes was no different for the son of basketball legend Magic Johnson, who dressed up in a Alexander Vauthier gown for a glamorous night out.

Johnson paired the long dress with a slit and patent leather black booties. Unbothered, he posted a photo to his Instagram page with the caption, “Golden Globes #2019 #teamthis.”

Johnson always had a passion for fashion, but ventured into wearing more risqué looks after he lost over 100 pounds from a 2014 gastric sleeve surgery.

As usual, Johnson’s comment section contained a bunch of polarizing responses regarding his fashion choice. To this day, no one can explain why people feel the need to log onto the internet to demean and diminish someone who has done absolutely nothing to them, but the internet has a way of bringing out the best and worst of everyone.

“Ssooo can I get this dress after you’re done… then again you look 🔥🔥 in it! Slay sis!!!,” @sugar_rush82 wrote in Johnson’s comment section.

“People better leave EJ alone, he don’t bother nobody and mind his business,” an Instagram user named @stilletto_brown wrote.

But one user’s comment prompted a response from Johnson after they wrote the following: “If my son ever pulled something like this I would whoop his add 0490349 that’s too embarrassing.”

“Your son can pull any look he chooses even this one regardless of your ignorance,” Johnson clapped back.

Those who take issue with Johnson’s style of dress will seemingly continue to stay mad. It’s obvious that he’s found his stride and won’t be dimming his shine anytime soon.
