Letitia Wright Was 2018’s Highest Box Office Grossing Actor
Black Panther was one of the biggest films of 2018, and thanks to the film’s record-breaking gross, star Letitia Wright has earned the well-deserved title of reigning box-office queen.
While the tallies for 2018’s highest-grossing films and actors continues to roll in, Black Panther’s Letitia Wright absolutely demolished the competition in 2018. She was officially the highest-grossing actor of 2018, beating out a lot of high-profile male competition including Samuel L. Jackson, Josh Brolin and Chris Pratt.
Black Panther was only one film that placed Wright at the top of the list of her peers. Her starring turns in the films Avengers: Infinity War, The Commuter and Steven Spielberg’s Ready Player One, also helped contribute to the jaw-dropping $1.55 million in revenue earned from all of her films in 2018. Unfortunately, Wright’s new title doesn’t translate into her bank account yet, but she’s taking it all in stride.
The 25-year-old Guyanese actress is one of the fastest rising stars in Hollywood as well, courtesy of her scene-stealing prowess onscreen and universal likability. Black Panther was released in theaters almost a year ago, but we can expect to see it dominate the awards season slate this year. With multiple Golden Globe nominations for the superhero film, Academy Award nominations shouldn’t be too far behind. The official nominations will be announced on January 22 and the ceremony will air on February 24.
We want to give a huge congrats to Letitia Wright, who’s leading her career with tons of #BlackGirlMagic to inspire the younger generation!
