White Man Attacks Black Female McDonald’s Employee, Manager Continues To Take His Order
When I was younger and would hear Black women being called the mules of the world, I didn’t entirely understand it. But the older I get and the more I see and experience, I understand why the moniker is appropriate in so many instances. There are so many examples of the ways in which Black women go underserved, underpaid, unappreciated and unprotected in this world.
We saw this recently when a White man in St. Petersburg, Florida ordering at McDonald’s physically assaulted a Black woman cashier.
According to some reports, the man was angry about a straw. And somehow his anger translated into him grabbing the Black woman by her collar, pulling her across the counter. The employee fought back, tagging the man in his head several times.
Sadly, she was fighting alone. Instead of trying to restrain the man, her fellow employee spent more time attempting to pull her off of him. Only in the last seconds of the altercation, did the other McDonald’s worker walk around the counter to try and prevent the White man from continuing to assault her. To add insult to injury, after she had been taken away, her manager comes to the counter and continues trying to fulfill the violent customer’s order.
Once the other employees separated the two, the man shouts at the manager. “I want her ass fired right now.” The manager doesn’t seem to address his comments but the woman did, “No, you’re fixing to go to jail.” He yells, “I was just asking you a f*cking question, b*tch.”
The Black woman asks why haven’t the police been called.
Later, according to Heavy, the McDonald’s customer Daniel Taylor, 40, was arrested and charged for the attack. According to court documents obtained by Heavy, Taylor is being held in jail, unable to post his $1,000 bond. He is charged with a first-degree misdemeanor with penalties of up to one year in jail or 12 months probation and a $1,000 fine.
In the meantime, Taylor has been ordered to stay away from McDonald’s and the victim.
