Links to Obama at Play in Race in Illinois
(New York Times) — When Dan Seals, a Democratic candidate for Congress, attended an event for President Obama in Chicago a few months ago, someone suggested that if he stepped into the cordoned-off streets, the crowd might mistake him for the president. Sure enough, Mr. Seals recalled here the other day, as he stepped out he heard at least a few breathless voices saying, “There he is!” Whether it is the way Mr. Seals, who is tall and lanky, speaks or merely his ethnicity (he describes himself as culturally African-American with “genetically a lot more going on”), he says he draws frequent comparisons to Mr. Obama.
