Another day, another man expecting and even encouraging a woman to put up with terrible behavior. Whether the messages come from the pulpit or the street, seems like men from all walks of life are working toward solidifying their positions of heads of manipulation and mayhem in romantic relationships.

As we all know, Cardi recently took to Instagram to announce that she and her husband Migos rapper Offset had broken up. She explained that it was going to take some time to get a divorce but they’d been having problems for a while and it just wasn’t going to work out.

It really wasn’t a surprise. Offset had spent much of their relationship cheating. He was cheating before they got married. And he was cheating during their marriage. So much so, that Cardi found herself in legal trouble attempting to fight the women he was cheating on her with. It was a mess. And honestly, for a woman who fought and scraped so hard to get out of the hood, it would be a real tragedy to watch it all crumble behind a man who couldn’t appreciate you enough to keep his d*ick at home.

But let a few famous men tell it, Cardi should reconsider her divorce. Since she made the announcement, Master Troll 50 Cent has been campaigning for Cardi to take Offset back, leaving comments underneath her [unrelated] Instagram posts.

And in the spirit of men standing by one another, even when they’re dead wrong, others chimed in on the Hip Hop relationship.

Comedian and newly minted songwriter, Lil Duval tweeted this:

And who chimed in but habitual cheater, rapper TI.

This posturing is so asinine and infuriating that it’s difficult to formulate words to discuss it. There’s the hypocrisy. TI, in the midst of defending one of his many infidelities, rationalized it by saying that Tiny was equally guilty because she danced with Floyd Mayweather. Imagine what his reaction would have been if she’d slept with him?

Knowing what we know about 50 Cent and the way he publicly treats his own son, his flesh and blood, I doubt he would exercise the type of forgiveness he’s asking of Cardi if a woman cheated on him.

And Lil Duval…who has made a career spewing problematic and downright hateful hot takes—including a fair amount of bashing women, would have them endure infidelity after infidelity, disrespect after disrespect for what?

50 Cent seems to be of the mindset that Offset loves Cardi B. And for the life of me, I don’t know how he came to that conclusion. Never has Offset talked about the personal qualities he admires about Cardi. In every instance, he’s only mentioned how she inspires him to chase his career goals. Interestingly enough, his actions have not only jeopardized their marriage, but they’ve also threatened her livelihood—and depending on the way this pending trial goes, her freedom.

I certainly hope 50 Cent and these others aren’t taking Offsets two social media posts to be some type of poetic expression of his love for Cardi, when over a year of action has proved the exact opposite.

I don’t know why I let this bother me, honestly. TI, 50 Cent and Lil Duval are not men anyone should look to for relationship advice. Still, they do still have some level of influence. And sadly, there are men with far less, inflicting these types of archaic, hypocritical and harmful beliefs onto women across the world every day. And they must be stopped.
