(Wall Street Journal) — The second annual city-sponsored contest for software developers kicked off Tuesday, with a $20,000 grand prize for the creator of the best mobile or web app using New York City data. The new aspects of this year’s contest, called BiggApps 2.0, will be unveiled by Deputy Mayor Robert Steel on Tuesday night at the New York Tech Meetup, a gathering of tech entrepreneurs and enthusiasts. The competition will be judged by a panel of venture capitalists and entrepreneurs, including Foursquare co-founder Naveen Selvadurai.
