Cardi B Released With No Bail After Court Hearing In Strip Club Brawl Case
Hours before her Grammy nomination was announced Cardi B was awaiting her fate for a pending legal battle that involved a reported strip club brawl earlier this summer.
Cardi was granted a warning and dodged a $2,500 bail ticket according to TMZ. Prosecutors pushed for bail, but the presiding judge ruled he didn’t determine Cardi to be a flight risk. She will have to appear in court in January 2019. She was also ordered to refrain from any type of contact or making comments about the alleged victims, Baddie Gi and Jade, including on social media.
Cardi was arrested in October in relation to the case and charged with assault and reckless endangerment.
However, the presiding judge issued a stern warning to Cardi after she dodged her initial court hearing earlier this week. The rapper was later spotted in Miami filming an upcoming video in Miami with the City Girls. For her absence she was issued an extension until Friday.
As we previously reported, Cardi is accused of ordering a beat down of two women, Baddie Gi and Jade. The women say they suffered physical injuries and mental anguish when a group assaulted them in Angels, a New York City strip club in August. Baddie Gi and Jade believe the action was ordered by Cardi because she suspected her husband Offset was physically intimate with Jade.
The altercation was also a sore spot in the ongoing rift between Cardi and Nicki Minaj. Minaj openly discussed the court case on her Queen Radio talk show and even featured Baddie Gi and Jade in the video for her most recent single “Good Form.”
Cardi has had a pretty profound week, beginning with the announcement that she was ending her relationship with her husband Offset. Hours later, the rapper released a photo of her daughter for the first time.
While Cardi’s legal troubles are far from over, hopefully the New Year will bring a new start for her and her family.
