E! has put a full stop on a preview clip of an upcoming “Keeping Up With The Kardashians” episode where Kim Kardashian attempted to clarify her husband’s May TMZ rant where he labeled slavery a “choice.”

According to TMZ, after watching the tape back Kim decided that her statement did not actually reflect what happened. Producers decided to pull the scene from the episode, but the clip is still making its rounds on social media.

In the clip, Kim is seen talking to her bestie Jonathan Cheban and marketing executive, Simon Huck, where she voices her frustration over the public’s perception of Kanye’s devastating statement.

Kim Kardashian Says Kanye West Never Said Slavery Was a Choice, Even Though We Heard Him Say Slavery Was a Choice – blogged by @MsJennyb (@tmz_tv) ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ In the forthcoming episode of “Keeping Up With The Kardashians,” #KimKardashian is taking on her husband’s, “Slavery Is a Choice” comments, in trying to justify his controversial statement. Problem is, she doesn’t even remember what was said. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ “I always know what Kanye’s intentions are and what he’s trying to say, but I also know that they’re gonna write a headline and people are gonna assume that that’s exactly what you said and what you meant,” Kardashian said in the green screen segment. “Kanye’s slavery comment, he never said that. That was just the headline.” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ As Kardashian continued, she went on to misquote her husband, saying, “If you listen to what he said, he said, ‘Slavery was 400 years, if it’s going to be another 400 years, that sounds like a choice to me.’ He didn’t say, ‘Slavery is a choice,’ he was saying, ‘If you’re gonna still be enslaved for another 400 years, then that’s some bullshit.” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ “That as a wife is really frustrating to see the media take everything and run with it,” she said. But unfortunately for Kim, ‘Ye’s comment made no mention of “another 400 years.” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ In fact, in the live video, which wasn’t edited – despite the claims made in the episode – ‘Ye said, “When you hear about slavery for 400 years, for 400 years? That sounds like a choice. Like, you was there for 400 years and it’s all of y’all?” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ So, if Kim was being technical- No, Kanye West did not say, “Slavery Is a choice,” he said, “That sounds like a choice to me,” which is clearly the same thing. But, okay.

“If you listen to what he said, he said, ‘Slavery was 400 years, if it’s going to be another 400 years, that sounds like a choice to me.’ He didn’t say, ‘Slavery is a choice,’ he was saying, If you’re still gonna still be enslaved for another 400 years, then that’s some bulls–t,” she uttered. “That as a wife is really frustrating to see the media take everything and run with it,” she said.

But in the TMZ interview Kanye CLEARLY makes his point known starting at the 1:14 mark where he says the following:

“When you hear about slavery for 400 years, for 400 years? That sounds like a choice,” he said. “Like, you was there for 400 years and it’s all of ya’ll? You know like, It’s like we’re mentally in prison because slavery goes directly to the idea of Blacks.”

Luckily the moment also transpired the great transaction between TMZ’s Van Lathan who promptly shut Kanye down and delivered a thorough history lesson.

“While you are making music and being an artist and living the life that you’ve earned by being a genius, the rest of us in society have to deal with these threats to our lives,” Jones said.

“We have to deal with the marginalization that has come from the 400 years of slavery that you said for our people was a choice! Frankly I’m disappointed, I’m appalled and brother I am unbelievably hurt by the fact that you have morphed into something that is not real,” he said.

As we all painfully recall the moment that made our eyes roll and mouth’s gasp, let’s just hope that these string of incidents played back for Mr. West will inspire him to have less of these career damning moments in 2019. One can only dream.
