Before You Throw Down The Towel: 5 Facts About Period Sex You Should Know
We talked about period sex and how it can help shorten the length of your flow a few weeks ago, with some, let’s say, mixed reviews from our MN audience.
Some of you are completely turned off by the red tide special, while some of you other freaks lauded the act as “grown woman” sh*t. For those who are in the latter camp, we found some tips from experts that you should know about before knocking boots during that time of the month.
Of course, before you run a red light, you should discuss your partner’s comfort with getting down during your period. Some people are frankly turned off by it or think it’s gross. Others may actually be excited about the prospect of doing something a little taboo (I once heard a story of a guy gleefully pulling out a tampon to have sex with his partner. The freaks come out at night, indeed.) Some guys may like the extra slippage period blood adds to the mix. While other men may just not see your period as a legitimate reason to postpone getting it in. All of these are valid–it’s just important to know how both partners feel before diving in.
Also assess your own comfort. Sex is 99% better when you feel confident and secure. Does it gross you out? Are you in pain? If so, it’s not worth pushing past your comfort zone just to scratch an itch. But if that doesn’t apply to you, here are a few things you should know before proceeding. Insider spoke with Dr. Carolyn DeLucia, OB/GYN and advisor to Remedy Review about some tips you should keep in mind when rolling in the red.
