Monyetta, Crystal & Ne-Yo Explain Confusion Around Their Relationship & Her Tube Tying Regrets
We’ve watched just a bit of the relationship between Monyetta and Ne-Yo play out on reality tv and social media for years now. And from the outside looking in, it’s seemed to be a mess. Despite being broken up, Ne-Yo was still living with Monyetta in Atlanta. But before then, he asked her to get her tubes tied…or burned off as I recall. And people have been looking at him like he was a dog ever since—particularly after he went on to have two more children with another woman.
Still, the saying goes that time heals all wounds. And after some years, Monyetta, Ne-Yo and Crystal seem to have come to some sort of understanding. And they sat down on “The Real” to discussing the confusing timing of their relationships and whether or not Monyetta regrets getting her tubes tied.
See what they had to say below.
Loni: You were broken up for well over a year. Is that the story?
Monyetta: It was going into a year but I think what confused everybody, we were still cohabitating. We still lived in the same house even though he was on the road a lot so we didn’t really feel it. So I think the world got confused about that.
Loni: How did you deal with the confusion, Crystal, at the time?
Crystal: I think it was the timing. She was on a show. Her show had just came out around the time we just got together. So the confusion was around the timing. So for me it was like, it hurt. I have morals, I have standards and I would never do anything like that. So it hurt but at the same time, you fight for love. And you do what you have to do. Then this became family. So it doesn’t really matter the disrespect I get from the world as long as my family’s happy.
Whether or not she would have gotten her tubes tied.
Honestly, if I would have seen the end result, I’m human, I would have done some things differently. However, this is my story. And the sacrifice to help so many women and men out there. And it’s reversible. God is good. And I have the best doctor. He actually travels around the world showing other doctors how to perform this task so yeah.
Yes, if my husband wants to. We’ll cross the bridge when we get there.
