While protective styling is a great option any time of the year, it’s an especially good idea to protect your ends during the winter. I learned the hard way that the coarser winter fabrics and materials can wreak havoc on your ends. Hair rubs against scarves and coats and gets caught in the fibers creating split ends and fairy knots. Protective styles like twists, braids, or buns are a great way to keep your hair up and off your shoulders to prevent damage.
