“Slay!”: Donna Brazile Got A Midterm Election Makeover And People Can’t Stop Talking About It
Political strategist and commentator Donna Brazile has had a specific type of look for a while now: salt and pepper hair curled and brushed back, simple earrings, maybe a fun necklace, but mostly a straightforward look that reminds you that she’s all about business and knows her stuff.
But just in time for the midterm elections this week, the 58-year-old decided to try something new, and it has left social media shook — in a good way.
As part of a panel of pundits providing midterm election results coverage on ABC on Sunday, Brazile had a completely different look that she showcased. Her signature hairstyle was turned into a fully grey sleek bob with a side part. She wore a full face of makeup, eyebrows defined, eyeshadow bright, lips red, blush on her cheeks. Brazile even appeared leaner.
She looked quite fancy, calling it her “#OG look,” and people took notice.
She must have liked it enough and received a great deal of positive reactions because it was a look she repeated on election night to even more fanfare:
We’re not sure what inspired the decision to try something different. Perhaps it was in an effort to present a new Donna Brazile after she spent 2016 and some of 2017 marred by controversy. She was found through a Wikileaks leak in 2016, while chairperson of the Democratic National Committee, to have shared debate questions with Hillary Clinton early. She initially denied doing so, and after being forced to sever ties with CNN, where she was a commentator, she admitted to doing so in March, only to say again, in her book, Hacks: The Inside Story, published last November, that she didn’t.
Whatever the reason for new look, she gets two thumbs up from us — and Twitter. And despite a credibility hit, the lady still knows a thing or 10 about politics.
