Andra Day arrived at the 2018 LACMA Art + Film Gala wearing a beautiful emerald green off the shoulder Zac Posen gown. Just gorgeous! I’m also loving her multi-colored embellished minutiae.

I love that she chose to wear Zac Posen. Posen is a huge supporter of diversity, particularly in the fashion industry. In 2016, he turned heads at NYFW for casting all black models for his Fall/Winter 2016 collection (the muses for the collection included people of color). He also helped create the ‘Black Models Matter’ tote bag.

She walked the carpet with Producer and Director Lee Daniels and the two looked like they were having so much fun! Daniels looked dapper in his black on black look. He wore no tie for a more relaxed look.

What really set her look off were her golden brown passion twists. This protective style is perfect for Fall and Winter. She decorated her hair with lips, hearts, and rainbows for a bohemian and whimsical look. She added funky earrings that also made this ensemble stand out.

Her makeup was a metallic eye with a red orange lip. I love how she also embraced a natural brow. Her baby doll lashes really make her eyes pop!

Andra Day is known for her vintage look so it’s nice to see her switch it up and have her show us multiple sides.

Passion twists are a great protective style. They look natural and are lightweight yet full. If you aren’t trying to skip your exercise routine because of your hair and you’re constantly on the move (but need to be able to switch it up to glam quickly), this look is for you.
