I said it before, and I will repeat it: I have a lipstick collection that will shame your favorite MUA. Oh, and you better believe I have actual receipts and bank statements to support me. Today I am sharing a lippie that I added to my collection solely because I am a fan, not of the brand that created it but of its namesake.
If you are a member of the Bardi Gang, I know that you remember Tom Ford announcing that he was naming a lipstick from his Boys and Girls collection after our girl Cardi B. This announcement came while the internet was already buzzing following her altercation with Nicki Minaj during NYFW. Of course, the lipstick sold out as soon as the announcement was made, It was as if people were sitting at home on their computers or with the phone in hand waiting to finalize their sales.
Like many of you, I wasn’t able to snag the lipstick when it initially dropped, but I have it now. However, the gag is that while I love Cardi B and I respect Tom Ford as a designer, I could have saved my $36.00.
Being that I am a huge fan of matte lipsticks that are both moist and highly pigmented, this sheer lippie didn’t excite me at all. Although it applied smooth, you had to apply it nearly 10 times to even get a hint of the hue that is so brilliant at first glance. And while I am a huge fan of blue lip colors, this one is just a no for me but don’t take my word for it. Check out how the color translated on these three other brown beauties.
