As the saying goes regarding true love, “When you know, you know.” But that same perspective also applies to knowing when someone isn’t the one — or at least it should. If you’re having more than your fair share of bad feelings regarding the man in your life, you should probably listen to your intuition and leave him in the dust.

But the problem is we often ignore those red flags and make excuses for the signs that tell us it’s time to cut a guy off. We tell ourselves we’re just paranoid, or can’t recognize a good thing, or aren’t ready to trust love. But sometimes that gut feeling isn’t about you; it’s your body signaling to you that you’re in a situation — in this case a relationship — that means you no good. Need a little more clarification that the guy you’re dating is totally wrong for you? Check out this list we compiled of some of the most glaring warning signs to look out for.

He Doesn’t Make You Feel Good About Yourself

This is really a given. Any man that you’re in a relationship with should make you feel amazing at all times, not the opposite. Sure, no one is solely responsible for how you feel about yourself except you, but your man should certainly do his best to always lift you up.

Constant put-downs regarding your appearance, life choices, opinions and decisions are all things that a man does when he doesn’t appreciate what he has. So, if you’re currently dealing with a man like this, it should be pretty easy to drop him for someone who always strives to make you feel your best.
