Kerry Washington On Motherhood: “I Have To Figure Out How To Grow And Evolve So That I Can Support The Truth Of Them”
Kerry Washington has managed to keep her private life completely hidden from the public eye, despite being one of the most sought-after actresses in Hollywood. The former ‘Scandal’ star secretly wed athlete Nnamdi Asomugha, and later gave birth to two children, Caleb (2016) and Isabelle (2014). The kids, who are now 2 and 4, have never been photographed by the paparazzi.
Even though Kerry keeps the identity of her kids under lock and key, she opened up to Marie Claire about what being a mom means to her, in their latest issue that features the 41-year-old as the cover star.

“My children are my teachers,” she explained to the mag.
“There’s a writer that I love, Dr. Shefali Tsabary. She writes about conscious parenting, and her paradigm is that we think about it all wrong.”
“We get sent by God the kids we need so we can grow in order to be the parents they need us to be,” she said. “The children I got sent came in perfect, and I have to figure out how to grow and evolve so that I can support the truth of them. I’m in a constant state of learning and challenging myself to make room for their perfection and beauty.”
“I love being with my family,” Washington continued.
“My days off look like homework, reading and watching stuff. Just hanging out, doing things we love to do.”
