On Thursday night, the finale of Braxton Family Values aired, with the family attempting to get through counseling following Iyanla Vanzant’s decision to leave after both Toni and Tamar were late for their sessions with her. If her scolding of the family during last week’s episode wasn’t intense enough for you, Tamar and Iyanla ended up going head-to-head for most of the episode. Tamar, not interested in being apologetic for her lateness or her behavior from the day before, is defensive. She calls Iyanla a hypocrite for leaving, while Iyanla accused her of not following through with her commitments and exhibiting abusive behavior. It was very uncomfortable to watch, so much so that Ms. Evelyn had to jump in and at one point threatened to get Tamar together if she didn’t settle down:

Tamar would eventually leave the set and sit in her car for some time while Iyanla proceeded to interview and work with her family. When she came back, the 41-year-old seemed like she was finally ready to do her work. During a conversation where the family had to go around and confess their feelings and asked for forgiveness for behaviors that had brought them to the spot they were in, Tamar broke down. She went around to each person and apologized for a range of things, but all were connected to her belief that she placed blame on her family without looking into the role she has played in everything.

And even though she called Iyanla by her government name (Rhonda), as well as “the devil” over the way she allegedly handled her admission of being a victim of sexual abuse (a moment that didn’t air), it can’t be denied that the spiritual teacher helped Tamar see things a bit differently, for the better. The singer took to Twitter following the episode to say, it seems, that she is done with Braxton Family Values, but is hopeful that her time on the show won’t be in vain.

Tamar wasn’t the only one tweeting up a storm after the finale. Check out what Twitter had to say about Iyanla and Tamar doing battle for the greater good of the Braxton family, and the rest of what we was seen during last night’s episode:
