(AJC) — Fulton County said Friday it has fully obligated $10.3 million in federal funds to purchase foreclosed property and to assist home buyers in attempt to stabilize the county’s foreclosure-decimated neighborhoods.
The county is spending about $9 million to buy and rehabilitate foreclosed properties, which leaves about $1.3 million for home buyer assistance, said spokeswoman Jessica Corbett.
The funds come from the federal Neighborhood Stabilization Program. The county selected Atlanta Neighborhood Development Partnership (ANDP) and APD Solutions out of Jacksonville, Fla., to select and buy the properties.
