“Although I Love My Family, Most Of The Time I Don’t Like My Family”: Toni Braxton Admits
The highly talked about season finale of the Braxton Family Values is here and another shocking revelation was made at the roundtable with life coach Iyanla Vanzant, this time by Toni Braxton.
The oldest Braxton sister who usually plays the role of mediator told her family flat out that if they were not blood, she wouldn’t associate with them.
“I’m confessing that although I love my family, most of the time I don’t like my family,” she began.
Her admission applied to each and every single person in their family.
“I feel like I’m angry at everybody in my family, I don’t like my family. If they weren’t my family they wouldn’t be my friends,” she says.
As the camera pans the room, her family looks stunned and ashamed.
This season highlighted the family’s turbulent path to healing after a group walkout was executed by most of the Braxton clan, except for Traci Braxton. What transpired after was difficult to watch, as the family decided not to participate in the show, while Traci continued to film with other reality tv stars.
The family’s intervention with Vanzant has also had it’s share of drama with walkouts and disagreements between the host, the matriarch, Evelyn Braxton, and Tamar Braxton.
Commentators were split–half said they could relate to Toni because of personal reasons and referred to past moments in seasons prior which proved she’s disconnected from her tribe. Others said that they couldn’t imagine saying something like that to their bloodline.
The season finale airs on Thursday at 9 p.m. EST on WE TV.
