How long have you all been together? 7 years
Describe how you all met?
Brian was my Resident Assistant (RA) freshman year of college – his sophomore year. Our dorms were across the hall from each other.
When did you know he was “the one?”
Brian is my best friend. He is someone who loves me enough to tell me honest truths and pushes me to become a better person. We can be goofy and laugh together and he has prayed with me and for me throughout our relationship. We both are our own individuals within our relationship. We never wanted the other person to lose who they were for our relationship to work. Since Brian and I started dating, he has done any and everything for me and always makes sure I am taken care of. He always puts me first. I wouldn’t want to go through life without him.
How did he propose?
The year before our engagement, I planned a surprise birthday party for Brian with all of our friends. Both of us enjoyed the idea so much that we planned to have another party the next year. I invited our friends to a fun restaurant in Nashville, Tennessee and were all having a great time. Brian walked up to the front of the room and wanted to give a speech. This really caught me off guard because the year before he didn’t make a speech. As he is going through the speech, he asks me to come to the front with him and proceeded to get down on one knee and proposed. I was as you say, “shooketh”.
How did you come up with your engagement shoot concept?
We wanted our engagement shoot to be non-traditional. We aren’t an extremely traditional couple and both wanted a more editorial style look. The theme of our wedding is what I would describe as minimalistic modern-glam and going with that, we wanted the look to be throughout every piece of our engagement and wedding. We both wanted more of a timeless look compared to what the typical trends are right now. The mushy stuff is cute just not really our style.
