Rapper Cardi B was arrested and charged in New York City on Monday, stemming from a strip club altercation on August 29, according to TMZ.
The “Bodak Yellow” hit maker was charged with two misdemeanors, assault and reckless endangerment. She will be issued a summons to appear in court on October 29. She was fingerprinted and ordered to take a mugshot, TMZ reports.
According to the two alleged victims who worked as bartenders at Angels Strip Club in Queens, New York, Cardi reportedly ordered her posse to violently attack the women while she visited the club in August.
Two bartender sisters Jade and Baddie G, allege the beef has been longstanding with Cardi, who believed Jade slept with her husband, Migos rapper Offset.
In a previous TMZ report, Jade said she came face to face with Cardi earlier in the year in Atlanta, where the rapper accused her of sleeping with Offset. She also claims Cardi made numerous threats on social media.
However, Cardi’s camp say the incident was not premeditated but popped off after someone threw a drink into the crowd.
The fight was openly discussed by rapper Nicki Minaj after the two almost came to blows at a New York Fashion Week party. Minaj gave a lengthy read addressing the incident days later during her Queen Radio. She also touched on the Angels altercation, accusing Cardi of ordering the attack on the two women.
“You calling black women roaches, you getting girls beat up because of what your man doing,” Minaj said during her lengthy rant. “Real b—–s never do that. You never attack the woman. You take that up with your f—–g man.”
Jade and Baddie G say they suffered injuries after being hit with bottles, chairs and a hookah smoking device. They claim one of the bottles was thrown by Cardi after they came face to face with the rapper. The women reportedly refused medical attention after the altercation.
