If there’s anyone I’d take beauty advice from, it’s Kerry Washington. The award-winning actress exudes a Benjamin Button quality that reinforces the theory that “black don’t crack.” So when Washington teamed up with Neutrogena for her second beauty collection, Force of Nature, I couldn’t be happier. The eye and lip duo has a sexy, ultra-feminine vibe to it. Both palettes can stand firmly on their own but collectively, they execute the perfect beauty look.

Washington’s lip palettes offer vivid, dramatic hues with a hint of romance. With names like Heat and Untamed, there is no doubt that she is exploring the sultry side of cosmetics. The limited edition collection was created, “to connect us to the philosophy that we all have our unique ways of being beautiful,” as stated on the packaging. Each lipstick is made with pomegranate extract, mango and shea butter.
The eye palettes feature a range of soft to deep colors that make bold statements. Each shade is has an uplifting name like Empower or Ignite to remind you of your abilities and greatness. With a built-in primer, you won’t have to worry about your eyeshadow creasing.
Washington’s first collection, Essential, was fresh, neutral and low-key. For her second go-round, she stepped it up a notch by introducing a range of flirty nude to red lips and an eye palette that can produce the perfect smokey eye. The colors balance each other out, allowing you to execute a variety of beauty looks. Both palettes retail at $12.99 and are sold on the Neutrogena and Ulta Beauty websites. In a market oversaturated with beauty collaborations, this is one I want to try. Not only has Washington joined forces with a reputable brand that takes skincare seriously, the finished product appears to be fun and resourceful. What do you think? Will you be shopping the Force of Nature collection?
