(Chicago Tribune) — When sales rep Doug Egly drives from client to client every day, he follows one rule: no eating in the car. That means lunch at an Illinois Tollway oasis not once, not twice, but several times a week.

“I think I’ve hit every one of them in Illinois,” said Egly, 45, of Joliet, munching on a Subway at the Hinsdale Oasis while traffic zoomed by below. “I’m all over the place, so they work out great for me. They’re convenient.”

The tollway and Wilton Partners, the private firm that renovated the oases, no doubt wish they had more customers like Egly among the road system’s 1.4 million daily users.
