Is It Too Late For Danity Kane?

August 15, 2018  |

Danity Kane has been through some thangs. They survived Diddy’s eccentricities on “Making The Band,” relationships with fellow cast members, the departure of more than one member, some pretty public disagreements, and then a physical altercation between Dawn Richard and Aubrey O’ Day.

But for whatever reason, the girls keep coming back to one another. I wish I could dismiss this as simply an opportunity to collect a check; but something tells me it’s more than that. Because after all they’ve experienced, I figured it was a wrap. And despite the reconciliation between Dawn and Aubrey nothing could have prepared me for yesterday’s announcement.

Not only are three of the Danity Kane members reuniting, they’re going on tour with one another.

Now, if you’re a Danity Kane fan, you know that this is not the first time they’ve attempted something like this. And to be honest, I had my doubts then. But once I saw clips from the stage show, I saw that it could really work. Crowds were engaged, the ladies still had the vocal abilities and Dawn was still killing it with the choreography. But apparently, it wasn’t enough. Before the tour ended, Aundrea announced that she was leaving the group to focus on being a wife and a mother. And things fizzled from there.

At the end of the day, fans have already been through this…a few times. With more than one let down, I think I would proceed with caution concerning this latest reunion. Personally, a sit down between Dawn and Aubrey to explain what the hell happened and how they were able to resolve things, seems like it’s in order. I can get over a lot of things but someone putting their hands on me is virtually unforgivable. I’m not going to a Danity Kane concert but I would imagine that fans would like and deserve an explanation in order to believe that the performances they’re witnessing are more than just a money grab or to ensure that some actual healing and resolution has taken place instead of another reunion just for these women to fall out again.

In other words, the people need answers before you attempt to take their money in another round of concerts.

But then again, based on some of the comments I saw when The Shade Room posted this flyer, there’s a good chance that fans are still ready and willing to see them perfom some of their hits–without anyone clearing the air.

How do you feel about a Danity Kane reunion? Do you think they can make it work? Should they explain how they moved past the drama? Would you attend one of their concerts?
