Looks like former supermodel turned media and beauty industry maven Tyra Banks is putting her Harvard Business School training to good use. Variety reports Banks has signed a first-look deal with Universal Television and Universal Alternative Studio.

Banks, who is currently serving as host for competition show America’s Got Talent will develop scripted and unscripted content in the new deal along with her production company Bankable Productions.

Universal TV president Pearlena Igbokwe shared the company is looking forward to working with Banks whose successful record with TV development speaks for itself:

“Tyra is one of the most driven producers in television.”

“She has long brought incredible passion to her unscripted projects and I can’t wait to start collaborating with her on the scripted side.”

In addition to an epic career as a supermodel boasting honors like being an official “Cover Girl”, covering Sports Illustrated magazine and walking the runway as a Victoria’s Secret Angel, Banks has been the host and executive producer behind America’s Top Model which has aired on UPN, the CW and, currently, VH1 and runs in 150 countries and boasts 25 international versions. She also hosted the two-time Emmy winning talk show The Tyra Banks Show.

Alternative Studio president Meredith Ahr also poke highly of Banks’ passion and creativity:

“America’s Next Top Model has been on the air for 24 seasons, proving Tyra’s standing and commitment as one of television’s top producers.”

“We are thrilled to infuse her creative vision, expertise and dedication into our studio’s development.”

In addition, Banks is also filming the tween-friendly favorite Life Size 2 which will air on The Disney Channel.
