I think it’s safe to assume we all stopped caring about the Lil Kim/Nicki Minaj beef a long time ago. It was clear that neither side was going to budge. Each felt disrespected. And honestly, in the span of Nicki Minaj’s career, Lil Kim was just the first of many female rappers she just couldn’t get along with.

And despite the fact that the general public has been over the reason why these two ever started dissing each other, when Lil Kim sat down recently to do a radio interview, the host asked her about Nicki Minaj.

The host asked: “Do you feel some type of way about Nicki dropping an album called Queen?”

Lil Kim: “Oh God…Let me ask you this, do you f*ck with me forreal?”

Host: Yeah. Notorious K.I.M. is my sh*t.

Lil Kim: Ok. So if you f*ck with me, right? Why isn’t this about Kim? Because if we’re going to mention one female. We need to mention them all. We need to mention everybody. We need to bring everybody in and we need to give everybody love. God bless her. What she did, she did. But you know what, God bless her. I wish her the best. I’m past that and I’m over it. She did what she did and until she’s ready—hopefully God puts it on her mind or whoever else’s mind to do the right thing because she know what she did. And once that happens, hopefully, y’all will stop asking me because y’all don’t do that to her.

When every third Black woman refers to herself or has been called a “Queen,” the question was certainly a reach. Still, given the back and forth between these two and the one-sided battle Kim engaged in on her own for some time after, it’s not all that surprising that journalists who are struggling to come up with questions, would ask her something about this. But I get how it could get old. And perhaps, as she’s grown and matured, Lil Kim is tired of talking about something that might be beginning to feel insignificant…even though she still acknowledges that Nicki was wrong.

Even though Lil Kim didn’t take blame for their beef, her tone was somewhat positive. I don’t know if I thought I would live to see the day she’d wish Nicki well. Then again, given the way things are going in Nicki’s career right now, she might be feeling a bit of newfound sympathy for her.

Can’t call it.
