Join Madame Noire At The Curvy Fashionista Style Expo In Atlanta, Georgia

August 9, 2018  |

Since 2015, The Curvy Fashionista Style Expo has been bringing plus size conversations happening online, offline for plus size women, men, and allies. The conference promotes body positivity and is a weekend full of panels, parties, and workshops. The event is held at the Cobb Galleria Centre, just 10 minutes away from downtown Atlanta and Buckhead!

The Expo is thrown by plus size industry leader, Marie Denee, the Founder of The Curvy Fashionista. The site is a source for plus size women that know their style is not dictated by style and provides information on fashion, support for plus-size women, and more. The brand will be celebrating 10 years in business at the Expo with a party during the conference! We’re so excited and ready to party with all of our plus size readers.

On Sunday, at 4:15PM, our very own Managing Editor, Brande Victorian, will be moderating a panel on privilege in the plus-size community. The conversation will explore making all forms of fat acceptable in the plus-size community and take an honest look at what body types are uplifted in the industry. We will discuss the dangers of the illustrative narrative pushed by brands and social media as well as how we can shift the representation to one of true inclusivity. The panel will include plus-size blogger, Pepper M as well as Head of Partnerships, Danielle James, who is also a body positive advocate.

The weekend will be full of panels whether you want to learn how to become a freelance plus-size model, discuss fitness in the plus size community, or plus size representation in film and tv. You will learn how to up your Instagram game and look good in pictures, educate yourself on males in the plus size industry, and more. Many of your favorites throughout the plus size industry will be in attendance, including fashion designer Ashley Nell Tipton, plus size bloggers Shainna Tucker and Chante Burkett as well as cosplayer TayLynn Kel…just to name a few.

Atlanta readers: you don’t want to miss out! You can purchase a ticket, here or check out @MadameNoire on social media to learn how to win a ticket (we’re giving away 25 to our lucky readers!).
