Cardi B Reveals Her Postpartum Emotions Are “Annoying”
Always transparent Cardi B is being open about her postpartum struggles. Just five weeks after giving birth to Baby Kulture, the new mama is still in recovery mode.
On Instagram stories, the hit maker wrote: ““This postpartum s—t is annoying. Like I been emotional all f—king day for no reason.”
The “Bodak Yellow” lyricist recently had to dip out of her upcoming tour with Bruno Mars, after underestimating how long it would take for her to return to 100% after delivery.
“I underestimated this whole mommy thing,” she wrote on IG back in July.
“I hope you guys understand. This have been such a hard decision. I want to thank @brunomars for understanding.”
Even though we’ve seen few photos of the star after giving birth, the new mommy shared this stripped down throwback photo of her just one week after delivery in her Atlanta home she shares with husband, Offset.
The 24-year-old is not alone in her postpartum pains. Tennis champ Serena Williams recently spoke out about not feeling like a “Good mom,” and Beyonce opened up about her emergency c-section in her cover story for the September issue of Vogue.
Beyond celebrity, so many mothers, particularly Black mothers, suffer silently through postpartum depression and don’t have the money or support to take time off or get a break.
Hopefully, all of the celeb transparency regarding life after birth will translate into actual resources for the every day mom and/or pressure on Washington to pass key legislation that would help support mandated paid maternity leave for new mamas.
